Chhay Hour committed suicide at a gun range near Peachtree Corners following deadly attack on the street in a Lawrenceville neighborhood.

Gwinnett Police have identified the victims and suspect in Thursday’s fatal domestic dispute, in which a man allegedly stabbed and killed his former wife and stabbed her mother before killing himself later at a gun range.

Police say Chhay Hour, 60, killed Chheng Voight, 37, and stabbed Ya Van, 59. Van is expected to recover from her injuries, police said in a news release.

Gwinnett Police Cpl. Michele Pihera said after the attacks, which occurred around 2 p.m. in front of witnesses on Chris Lake Drive near Lawrenceville, Hour drove to a gun range in Peachtree Corners and killed himself.

Pihera said officers were called to the Norcross Gun Club and Range on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard around 6 p.m. Thursday on a report of a person shot. Hour was found dead inside from a self-inflicted gunshot.

Police said Hour attacked the women during an incident that started as a domestic dispute in the dining room of the home before spilling outside into the street in front of witnesses, including one who shot at Hour’s car as he was fleeing the scene.

Leon Hughes told WSB-TV he fired a shot at Hour’s car after he confronted the man. β€œHe was just repeatedly stabbing her,” Hughes told the TV station.

Hughes said he drew his weapon and told Hour to drop the knife. Hour dropped the knife, walked away to his car and drove off.

Hughes’ daughter, Asha, told the Gwinnett Daily Post she also witnessed the incident after following her father outside.

β€œHe wasn’t talking. He was just stabbing her. The man didn’t say anything at all,” Asha Hughes told the newspaper. β€œAs soon as he saw the gun, he stabbed her one more time.”

Pihera said two young children were in the home when the attacks occurred. They have been released to the custody of a family member.
