Gwinnett Police spokesperson Cpl. Michele Pihera said a 911 call was received at 12:35 p.m., reporting that the man had been attacked.
Police determined that four employees and four customers were in the shop when 4-5 males entered and began assaulting one of the employees.
“At some point during the assault, someone fired multiple rounds from a gun,” Pihera said in an email. “After the shots were fired, the other employees and customers fled the business.”
No arrests have been made, and police were looking for the suspects, who fled when shots were fired. It was not immediately clear who fired the shots.
The victim was taken to North Fulton Hospital for treatment.
Detectives have spoken to some of the witnesses and were looking to speak to more of them, Pihera said.
The suspects are described as 3-4 black males and possibly one Hispanic male. Specific descriptions are unknown.
