Police: Stepson Stabs Man to Death After Argument Over Puppy
Diamond Gregory Mason allegedly stabbed Joseph Kollie multiple times in their Lawrenceville-area home.

An argument over a puppy turned deadly early Wednesday morning in Gwinnett County.
Police said Diamond Gregory Mason, 23, has been charged with felony murder and aggravated assault for the stabbing death of his step-father Joseph J. Kollie, 51. The incident occurred around 1:13 a.m. Wednesday at 380 Congress Parkway in unincorporated Lawrenceville.
Kollie died at the scene from multiple stab wounds.

Gwinnett Police Cpl. Ed Ritter said in a news alert the two men were arguing over a new puppy in the home. Mason had brought a puppy into the home about a week ago, and Kollie did not approve.
βLate last night in the early hours of this morning, the two had a heated argument over the puppy,β Ritter said. βAt some point, Mr. Mason retrieved a couple of large knive and repeated stabbed Mr. Kollie.β

Mason is being held without bond at the Gwinnett County jail.
