Psi Omega Omega Chapter Receives Recognition at South Atlantic Regional Conference
New Graduate Chapter Serving Peachtree Corners and Surrounding Areas, Aims High and Receives Awards in 3 Distinct Categories
South Atlantic Region of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated welcomed its new Gwinnett County Graduate Chapter four months ago, December 13th, 2014. On that historic day (12/13/14), Seventy Alpha Kappa Alpha women were received and certified as Charter Members of Psi Omega Omega with the charge of Launching New Dimensions of Service and Sisterhood in Peachtree Corners, Georgia. Four months later this young graduate chapter proves that hard work, commitment and determination does pay off. While attending the April 2015 Regional Conference in Florida, the chapter was awarded 3 outstanding achievements:
- 1st Place Award in Small Chapter Category for Launching New Dimensions of Service
- 2nd Place Global Leadership Through Timeless Service Outstanding Program Award
- 2nd Place Global Leadership Through Timeless Service Health Initiative
Psi Omega Omega Chapter President, Ora Douglass in the attached photo is featured with Sharon Brown Harriott, Regional Director and Glenda Glover, First Vice President. Ms. Douglass is shown receiving One of Three awards for exceptional Community Service at the Orlando South Atlantic Regional Conference of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
