Reported Hand Grenade Turns Out to Be a Dud
Gwinnett Police received a 911 call that the grenade had been discovered at car dealership on Buford Highway, near Peachtree Corners.

The discovery of a hand grenade near Peachtree Corners generated an emergency call into police Saturday afternoon, but the device was found to be a dud.
Gwinnett Police responded to a call at 6978 Buford Highway around 3 p.m. Saturday.
This was at a location in unincorporated Gwinnett County adjacent to the Peachtree Corners city limits. The Gwinnett Daily Post reported the grenade was found in a repossessed car at a local dealership.

The agency’s Hazardous Device Unit was called to the scene and determined the device to be inert and not dangerous, police said in a news release.
