Restaurant Inspections: Norcross Eatery Gets Failing Grade

A list of issues at Sabri Kabob House, 6075-B Singleton Rd., in Norcross, led to a failing score of 56 during a December 14 inspection.

Among the problems inspectors say they found were cutting boards being stored on the floor, food in freezers that was frozen solid and cold food being stored at temperatures above 41 degrees F.

Raw lamb was also found being stored beneath raw chicken.

The restaurant’s last score, from an inspection in May, had been a B (84) and before that, it got an A (95) last December. A follow-up inspection was scheduled for December 24. If the restaurant gets a failing grade again, it could lose its permit.

Each item on an inspection form has a point value ranging from 1 to 9 points, with violations deducting points from a best possible score of 100.

Higher points are taken for items with higher risk to cause illness, while repeat violations take even more points.

Letter grades assigned are A for totals of 100 to 90 points, B for 89 to 80, C for 79 to 70, and U for less than 70.
