Saturday is Healthy Kids Day at the YMCA
As part of a national effort to keep kids fit, the Peachtree Corners facility has planned a day filled with fun for the entire family. And the best part - it's free.
Summer is the time for kids to get up, go out, play and explore. But sometimes when the school year ends, so does a child’s exposure to stimulating activities. Studies show that kids with access summer camps, tutoring and travel keep learning when school's out, while those without such advantages gain weight and fall behind.
Too much unstructured time can lead to lazy summer days in front of the TV or an electric screen, snacking on junk food.
As part of a nationwide effort to encourage kids to get moving, will host a Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 28 from 10 to 12:30 p.m.
