Sidewalk, Landscaping Added to Buford Highway
$1 million project improves pedestrian safety along busy Peachtree Corners road

The Gwinnett Village Community Improvement District recently announced that a $1 million construction project to install sidewalks and landscaping on a stretch of Buford Highway between Jimmy Carter Boulevard in Peachtree Corners and the DeKalb County line has been completed.
The project also includes work on the curb and gutter and crosswalks at four intersections along the section of Buford Highway according to an Aug. 14, 2015 Gwinnett Village CID news release.
“The Buford Highway corridor has one of the highest concentrations of pedestrian traffic in our area,” said Chuck Warbington, executive director for the Gwinnett Village CID. “From a safety and connectivity perspective this project was a high priority for us.”

“We’re delighted that Gwinnett Village CID worked to have the new sidewalk and landscaping installed on this portion of Buford Highway which is an important gateway to our city,” said Peachtree Corners Councilmember Phil Sadd (Post 1). “The addition improves safety, walkability for pedestrians and aesthetics for the area.”
