The event raises money for Pennies for Patients through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

The program began last year when a fourth-grader presented an idea to the Simpson Student Council to hold a fund-raising talent show. The show was coordinated through a partnership with Simpson PTA and school staff.

More than $500 was raised for the Norcross Co-Op.

This year, the show is bigger — featuring 15 acts and 70 kids — and so is the fund-raising goal. Organizers are projecting to raise $1,000.

There’s quite a bit of variety in the acts, including comedy, dancing, singing, piano, hula hoop, cheerleading, martial arts and the first-ever Simpson all-boy band. Student emcees will host the show.

Tickets are being sold to other students and families and the event is nearly sold out.
