Sneaky Shoplifter Busted At Gwinnett Walmart

Police say the suspect had similarly shoplifted at a Paulding County Walmart days earlier.

DULUTH, GA β€” A man trying to shoplift creatively from a Gwinnett County Walmart was arrested recently, and turned out to have pulled a similar heist recently in Paulding County.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Duluth Police said they responded Sept. 12 to a shoplifting call at the Walmart on 2635 Pleasant Hill Rd. There, a man police identify as Charles Neal, 25, had been captured on surveillance camera placing suitcases in a shopping cart.

Then, police say, Neal went to the electronics section and began placing items into the suitcases.

He passed the store's cash registers and tried to leave, but police officers were there to stop him. He was arrested and charged with felony shoplifting and obstruction, along with other charges. Duluth Police say Neal also had been featured in a Paulding County Sheriff's Office social media post in regard to a Walmart shoplifting case there. Duluth police worked with investigators from Paulding County to obtain arrest warrants related to that crime.
