Storm Before Christmas? Peachtree Corners Could See Severe Weather on Wednesday

The National Weather Service says damaging winds, heavy rain and isolated tornadoes are possible on Christmas Eve.

The weather service in Peachtree City said severe storms are possible throughout the region on Christmas Eve as a strong cold front moves east across the state and into the Carolinas

The weather service said the storm system is expected to move into north Georgia early Wednesday morning. The highest risk for severe weather is 6 a.m. to noon in the west, noon to 8 p.m. in the east, the weather service said.

In Peachtree Corners, the weather service forecasts a Wednesday high of 56 degrees, with a 100-percent chance of rain overnight Tuesday to Wednesday, and 90 percent on Wednesday.

Christmas Day is expected to be sunny and 53.
