Storm Damage: Gwinnett 'Fared Well' During Tuesday's Rough Weather
Trees and power lines were knocked down, but no injuries or major damage.

Power lines and trees were knocked down by the strong-to-severe thunderstorms that hit Gwinnett County Tuesday night, but no major structural damage or injuries were reported during the height of the storms.
“Fortunately, the county fared well during the storm,” said Gwinnett Fire Captain Tommy Rutledge. “We are fortunate that the storm’s impact was minimal and that our residents are safe.”

TREE DOWN ON HOUSE
Firefighters responded to a report of a tree down that struck the side of a house (duplex) in the 560 block of Telfair Court, NW in Suwanee. Occupants were home at the time and were not injured. The tree fell near the roadway and impacted the corner of the house. The tree pulled down the electrical service line from the pole and knocked down the gutters on the house.

WIRES DOWN
Firefighters responded to a host of electrical wires down to include the following locations:
- Kilgore Road, NE and Cross Road in Buford – Large tree and wires down in the roadway.
- Meadow Ridge Drive, NW in Duluth – Power line down across the roadway.
- 1700 block of Pinehurst Road, SW near Carolina Wind Court in Snellville – Tree down that blew the electrical transformer.
- James Road, NW and James Path Drive in Lawrenceville – Tree leaning on the power lines.
