Stream Restoration in Peachtree Corners Approved by Commissioners
The 3.8-acre project site is near Allenhurst Drive in the Peachtree Station and River Valley Estates subdivisions.

County commissioners on Tuesday approved the second phase of a stream restoration project in Peachtree Corners.
The 3.8-acre project site is near Allenhurst Drive in the Peachtree Station and River Valley Estates subdivisions.
The low bidder was Site Engineering Inc. at $923,807. Funding comes from the water and sewer renewal fund. The project will stabilize 2,100 feet of stream banks, using natural channel-design techniques to reduce erosion and improve water quality and habitat. The first phase was completed in 2010.

District 2 Commissioner Lynette Howard said, βProtecting our watershed and being good environmental stewards is essential to our quality of life. Within just a few months after the last project was completed, I walked along the stream and found tadpoles and plants already thriving. Thatβs a true sign of doing it right, and I look forward to seeing the results of this project.β
