According to a Gwinnett Police incident report, the incident may have been the result of unnecessary jealousy.

The victim told police her car was damaged while she was spending the night with her boyfriend on Parton Court. Her boyfriend and the suspect’s boyfriend live in the same townhouse, the incident report stated.

The woman told police she went to visit her boyfriend shortly after midnight, and by the time she went back outside to her car around 6:30 a.m., it was covered in eggs and the hood and driver-side door had been scratched up.

Here’s where it gets interesting.

The suspect’s boyfriend, who initiated the 911 call, told police he and his girlfriend had gotten into an argument earlier the previous evening and he asked her to leave, which she did.

But, in text messages he didn’t see until later, the suspect allegedly wrote the boyfriend that she saw the victim enter the residence, thought she was visiting her boyfriend, and “she was not happy about it,” the incident report stated.

The damage, which amounted to $2,000, is believed to have happened sometime after the text messages stopped.

Despite the time frame between the text messages and the possible time frame of the crime, police did not have sufficient evidence to make an arrest.
