Vehicle Break-In's at local parks

Good morning from the Gwinnett County Police West Precinct. As I sat at my desk I heard a call for service go out at Pinckneyville Park in reference to a vehicle getting it's window smashed and the owner's purse being removed from the car. This sort of call happens too many times and they all had one thing in common, the vehicle's owner left personal property in the vehicle in plain sight. Please ask yourself, if I go to the bank and withdraw $300, would I leave it in plain sight and unattended??  Of course not, so why leave other things of value (IPOD, IPHONE, IPAD, Ietc....) Ladies and gentlemen, please come and enjoy the parks but if you choose to bring valuables with you a good idea may be to lock them in the truck (purses, wallets) prior to getting to the park so any suspicious person who may be there already does not see you doing so. Also consider parking closer to park buildings where there may be more activities going on to where there are more people around that may see suspicious activity and report it.  Look for tips weekly and have a safe weekend.
