Veterans Honored Sunday in Gwinnett
Veterans Day ceremony to be held at the Fallen Heros Memorial at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11 in Lawrenceville. Gwinnett Commissioner Lynette Howard from Peachtree Corners will participate.
Gwinnett County will honor its military veterans during a Veterans’ Day ceremony at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at the Fallen Heroes Memorial in Lawrenceville.
The public is invited to attend this observance to pay tribute to the men and women who have served honorably in the military, during wartime or peacetime, and to memorialize the fallen heroes who have sacrificed their lives to protect our nation.
Gwinnett County Chairman Charlotte Nash, District 2 Commissioner Lynette Howard and County Administrator Glenn Stephens will lead this year’s ceremony.

Congressman Rob Woodall, R-Lawrenceville, also will participate. The keynote address will be given by Command Sgt. Maj. James Nelson Jr. of Georgia Army National Guard. Nelson is also Senior Enlisted Leader of the Georgia Department of Defense.
Honor guard units from the Gwinnett County Police, Fire and Emergency Services and Sheriff’s Departments and the Lawrenceville Police Department will also take part in the event. No new names will be added to the memorial during this year’s ceremony.

The Fallen Heroes Memorial is located on the grounds of the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, 75 Langley Drive, in Lawrenceville.
The Veterans Day Ceremony will be televised at 7:30 p.m. Sunday on TVgwinnett, the county’s local government access cable channel. This program and other TVgwinnett shows are also available streaming and on demand at www.tvgwinnett.com.
