Weather Alert: Tornado Watch for Peachtree Corners, Atlanta Region
The National Weather Service warns a few strong thunderstorms are capable of producing damaging winds and heavy rains.

Get your flashlights and weather radios ready. The National Weather Service says Gwinnett County and much of the Atlanta region is under a tornado watch.
The watch began at 2 p.m. Tuesday and is set to expire at 10 p.m. Tuesday

Scattered, strong thunderstorms are possible across Peachtree Corners, Gwinnett and the Atlanta region Tuesday. Forecasters say damaging winds and very heavy rain with flash flooding are possible. Isolated tornados cannot be ruled out, although the biggest risk was Tuesday morning.

The weather service says a second line of storms may redevelop later this afternoon along the cold front. This would push through the area between 2 and 9 p.m.
Forecasts say the only threat expected with the second line of storms is likely to be isolated strong winds.

Rain chances are 90 percent Tuesday afternoon, dropping to 60 percent in the evening. Skies will clear Wednesday, with a 20 percent chance of rain.
