Wesleyan School Executive Headmaster Named to George C. Marshall Foundation Board of Trustees

Matt Cole will be one of 20 members on the Board of Trustees.

Wesleyan’s Executive Headmaster has just been named to the Board of Trustees of the George C. Marshall Foundation.

Matt Cole is the Executive Headmaster of the Wesleyan School in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, where he directs development, endowment, and college admissions. Since coming to Wesleyan in 1998, initially to teach history, then to serve as development director, he has been responsible for raising $125 million during three capital campaigns. Matt also continues to teach a class, primarily, Advanced Placement European History.

Prior to joining the administration of the school, he served as Vice President and Treasurer of Norrell Corporation and was responsible for treasury, banking, investments, real estate, budgeting, and planning.

A native of Newnan, Georgia, Cole graduated Washington & Lee University in 1971 with a degree with honors in history. He received an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1974.

The independent George C. Marshall Foundation, located in Lexington, Virginia, perpetuates the legacy of George Marshall. It is the only place where the principles that motivated Marshall are kept alive through educational programs, online presence, and facilities that include a museum, research library, and archives. The Foundation has 20 members on its Board of Trustees.
