Where Can I Pick Up a Six Pack on Sundays?

Now that Sunday Alcohol Sales was voted in on Nov. 8, the key is knowing where to buy beer, wine and spirits.

 

On Nov. 8 voters in the north metro area overwhelming approved Sunday Alcohol Sales. But Peachtree Corners and Berkeley Lake residents will still have to travel out of their city limits on Sundays.

Residents of the new City of Peachtree Corners will have to wait until July or possibly November of next year before they'll have a chance to vote on Sunday Alcohol Sales. A mayor and city council will be responsible for putting that on the ballot and the city will not have its leadership in place until the March 6, 2012 elections.

And the does not yet have a retailer inside their city limits that sells alcoholic beverages for off-premises consumption.

In the meantime, residents of these two cities can make the short trip to Duluth to pick up a six-pack or purchase other distilled spirits. The at 3870 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard will be selling beer and wine starting Sunday, Nov. 20 from 12:30 - 10 p.m.

And the at 3900 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in Duluth will be open on Sundays, beginning Nov. 20 from 12 - 6 p.m.  The package store sells beer, wine and distilled spirits.

Sunday liquor sales will also start tomorrow in several nearby cities including Suwanee, Lawrenceville and Snellville. In Norcross, Sunday liquor sales will not be allowed to begin until Jan. 1, 2012.

Stores located in unincorporated Gwinnett County may not sell alcoholic beverages on Sunday yet. The Gwinnett County Commission just voted, however, to put the issue on the same ballot as Georgia’s March 6 presidential primary.
