Teachers Volunteer at the YMCA's After School Program
Two Pinckneyville Middle School teachers offer their support at the Y's after-school program for middle school students.
In addition to fitness, fun and games at , for the past three years the Y's middle school program has been fortunate to have two teachers from volunteer to support and mold the Teen Academic Skills Program.
The saying that it takes a village to raise a child could not be truer when it comes to academic skills. The program is built to assist students with daily assignments, prepare for standardized tests, and to create strong academic work ethics at a young age.

"When a student is struggling, we surround them with a supportive team," explained Craig Lovinggood, Coordinator of the Teen Program. "We work with students, teachers, counselors and parents to ensure that we are all doing everything we can to promote an environment for every student to be successful.
"We have tracked our results and the program is working, many of our students have improved their tests scores as well as their grades," said Lovinggood.
