The ceremony will include a moment of silence, color guard, prayer, and reflections from Mayor Mary Robichaux and public safety leaders.

Speeder pursued by Roswell officer arrested in Jasper (appenmedia.com) β A Roswell police officer pursuing a speeding Audi on I-575 saw the driver allegedly hit 124 mph, weave through traffic, and head toward an active crash scene in Pickens County. After multiple agencies joined the chase, Pickens County deputies stopped the car near downtown Jasper, where the driver was arrested and charged with reckless driving and felony fleeing.

DeKalb school board may name Sauce sole finalist for top job (decaturish.com) β DeKalb County's school board is set to consider Interim Superintendent Norman Sauce as the sole finalist for the district's top job, and his background includes serving as assistant principal at Fulton County's Roswell High School. His long Georgia career, from Barnwell Elementary to DeKalb leadership roles, could soon culminate in permanent superintendent status if the board moves forward on Sept. 14.
