Body Found In Allatoona Lake Identified as Missing Fisherman

Authorities have confirmed that the body recovered Sunday from Allatoona Lake is the man who was reported missing following a Feb. 2 fatal boat collision. The victim is Canton resident Ronnie Bentley, 66; he was one of two men who were killed when two boats collided in the lake near Little River Marina just outside of Canton.>>> Read more.

Robbery, Home Invasion Suspect Arrested in North Carolina

  • A man wanted by Bartow County Sheriff's Office investigators on felony charges was arrested last week in a neighboring state. Emery Tejada-Wandique, 33, was taken into custody Feb. 16 at an apartment complex southeast of Wilmington, North Carolina.

Gwinnett Drug Gang Investigation Nets 22 Arrests

  • A total of 22 people have been arrested in connection with a two-month gang investigation in Gwinnett County, police said Tuesday. The investigation centered on drug and gang activity and was spurred by a shooting at 3370 Club Dr. in Lawrenceville.

Athens Firefighter Dies in Accident

  • An Athens firefighters has died after an off-duty accident Matt Hughes was seriously injured in the accident on Monday, Athens-Clarke County Fire and Emergency Services posted on its Facebook page, and later died.
