Two Local Resurgens Orthopaedics Physicians Named Top Doctors by Atlanta Magazine

Drs. Erroll J. Bailey and Kenneth J. Kress of the St. Joseph’s office of Resurgens Orthopaedics (5671 Peachtree Dunwoody Rd, Suite 900, Atlanta)—Georgia’s largest orthopaedic practice—were named to the 2012 list of Top Docs in the July issue of Atlanta magazine.

 

Four additional Resurgens Orthopaedics physicians joined Drs. Bailey and Kress in the prestigious listing: Drs. Edward H. Holliger IV, Robert A. Kelly, Douglas W. Lundy, and Yvonne E. Satterwhite.

Resurgens co-president Dr. Kay Kirkpatrick said the practice is exceptionally honored to have six physicians on Atlanta magazine’s Top Doctors list. “All of our physicians take pride in giving patients the highest quality of care, and it’s fulfilling to have that commitment to excellence recognized by a panel of their peers,” she said.

Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., an established healthcare research company based in New York, compiles Atlanta magazine’s list of Top Doctors annually. Its physician-led team of researchers selects Top Doctors through a rigorous screening process that includes evaluation of education and professional experience. Top Doctors were nominated by both a nationwide survey administered by Castle Connolly and by licensed physicians in DeKalb, Fulton, Cobb, Clayton, and Gwinnett counties who submitted online votes for exceptional colleagues they would send their own families to.

 

Dr. Bailey practices at the Resurgens St. Joseph’s, Decatur, and Midtown offices. His areas of expertise include adult reconstruction of the foot and ankle, sports medicine of the foot and ankle, general orthopaedics, and diabetic feet. A graduate of Harvard Medical School, Dr. Bailey completed his residency at Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Program and his fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery—St. Luke’s in New York. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is a member of the American Foot & Ankle Society, the Atlanta Orthopaedic Society, and the Atlanta Medical Association. Dr. Bailey was also honored as a Top Doc by Atlanta magazine in 2011.

 

Dr. Kress practices at the Resurgens St. Joseph’s office. His areas of expertise include adult reconstructive surgery. He recently received the 2012 E. Napier Burson Jr. MD Award at St. Joseph’s Hospital for his commitment to his patients and to the practice of medicine. He completed his medical degree at Cornell University Medical College and his residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery of Cornell University. He completed the Dr. John C. Garrett fellowship in knee reconstruction. Dr. Kress is board certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Southern Medical Association, Southern Orthopaedic Association, Medical Association of Atlanta, Medical Association of Georgia, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and Atlanta Orthopaedic Society. Dr. Kress was also honored as a Top Doc by Atlanta magazine in 2011.
