Atlanta Film Festival Extends to Sandy Springs, This Week
Lefont Theaters screens four films on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Four films in the Atlanta Film Festival will be screened today through Wednesday at Lefont Theaters.
The film festival kicked off last Thursday with 125 films and continues through Saturday.

- “Young Goethe in Love”
Director: Philipp Stölzl
Germany 1772 – the young and tumultuous Johann Goethe aspires to be a poet but after failing his law exams, is sent by his father to a sleepy provincial court to mend his ways. At first, he tries to do his best and wins the praise and friendship of his superior Kestner. But then Lotte enters his life and nothing is the same.

- “Terri”

Orphaned to an uncle who is ailing, mercilessly teased by his peers, and roundly ignored by his jaded teachers, Terri finds himself alienated and alone. But when the dreaded vice principal, Mr. Fitzgerald, sees a bit of himself in the boy, they establish a friendship that encourages Terri to consider the possibility that life is something to be shared, even enjoyed, not just endured.

- “Kto ya?”

This story begins at the Sevastopol station in the early rainy morning. On the platform near the Moscow-Sevastopol train, the police find a young man without documents, who has lost his memory. He remembers a lot of facts: historical dates, songs of his favorite band, but he can't recall his name or say where he is from.

- “The First Grader”
Director: Justin Chadwick
Set in a mountain village in Kenya, this film tells the true and story of a proud old Mau Mau veteran so determined to seize his last chance to learn to read and write – that he takes classes with six-year-old students.
