Bank Robbery Under Investigation In Sandy Springs

The robbery was reported Sept. 22 at Regions Bank on Roswell Road.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- The Sandy Springs Police Department is investigating a bank robbery reported last week along Roswell Road. Officers were dispatched to the burglary around 2:46 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22 at Regions Bank at 6637 Roswell Road.

They arrived on the scene and met with a teller and branch manager, who both said the suspect came in, stood in line and waited to be called upon by an employee. The teller called the subject to the counter and "at this time, the suspect placed his items on the counter to include a note," according to an incident report released by Sandy Springs police said.

The teller retrieved the money from the drawer and gave it to the male subject, who left the premises with the money as well as the note.

Police describe the subject as a black male between 5'9'' and 5'11'' tall with a medium build, goatee and mustache. He was wearing a red and black long sleeve shirt with three buttons, a white shirt underneath, a black hat and black bandanna, sunglasses and black pants.
