Basketball Team to be Recognized by City Council
Mount Vernon Presbyterian School varsity basketball team won the state championship in February.

The Mount Vernon Presbyterian School varsity boys basketball team will be formally recognized at the next City Council meeting for their championship season.
Last Month, the Mustangs defeated Bethesda to become the GISA 1AAA State Champions. It’s their second state title in three years.
“It’s been a great run for us these past few years,” said Coach Curtis Berry in a statement. “This year, we were the only team to come back to the Final Four from last year. That says quite a bit about our athletic program at Mount Vernon Presbyterian School and the things that we’ve been able to accomplish.”
