Capt. Lindstrom Graduates From FBI National Academy
Capt. Mike Lindstrom is the Sandy Springs Police Department's patrol commander for the North District.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — Capt. Mike Lindstrom, the Sandy Springs Police Department's patrol commander for the North District, graduated last week from the FBI National Academy.
Lindstrom as part of the Session 272 of the academy, which graduated the most recent class on Friday, June 8. Each session includes about 220 local law enforcement officers from around the United States and around the world.
The select group of officers take courses at the FBI campus in Quantico, Virginia. Classes are offered in areas such as law, behavioral science, forensic science, understanding terrorism and terrorist mindsets, leadership, communication and health/fitness, according to the organization's website.

Officers participate in a wide range of leadership and specialized training where they share ideas, techniques, and experiences with each other. This experience allows officers to create lifelong partnerships that transcend state and national borders.

The Academy, the FBI notes, "serves to improve the administration of justice in police departments and agencies at home and abroad and to raise law enforcement standards, knowledge, and cooperation worldwide."
Capt. Lindstrom began his law enforcement career with the Fulton County Police Department in 1995. He predominantly worked in the Sandy Springs area as a patrol and community officer until he was promoted to become a detective.
He continued as a detective in Sandy Springs with the creation of the city's Police Department on July 1, 2006. Lindstrom rose through the ranks, and obtained the ranks of sergeant and captain. Before becoming the patrol commander for the North District, he also handled media relations for the Sandy Springs Police Department.
