Cause of Fire at Sandy Springs Gun Range Determined

No one was injured in the fire, which was reported Sunday afternoon.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Fire investigators have determined the cause of a blaze that ignited Sunday afternoon at Sandy Springs Gun Club and Range.

The fire, which has been ruled accidental, was sparked when a customer "accidentally fired a tracer round, which includes a small amount of pyrotechnic charge inside," said city spokesperson Sharon Kraun.

"The customer told investigators that he did not realize the round was there, and as soon as he realized what had happened, he notified the store staff," she added.
