City Springs Construction Budget Climbs Higher
Sandy Springs leaders approved an increase in the guaranteed maximum price for construction, but the overall budget remains unchanged.
The change order, which was requested by Holder Construction Group, does not change the overall budget for the project, which is $222.7 million.
Tuesday's approval increased the guaranteed maximum price for construction to $191.8 million, which covers additions to the project including a park fountain, hardscape and site power upgrades.

The increase also accommodates power and water source enhancements were added to the Mt. Vernon and Bluestone festival layout, and additional acoustical upgrades for the performing arts center.
Funds to increase the Holder budget were shifted from the contingency source category, keeping the overall project budget the same.

The City Council action also authorizes an extension for construction completion, formalizing a request made in December 2016.
Planned opening for City Springs remains scheduled for summer 2018.
