Community Leaders Back Chris Burnett In Special Election Runoff

Burnett, who is facing Joe Houseman in the June 21 runoff, has received the endorsement of several Sandy Springs community volunteers.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Several Sandy Springs community leaders have come out in support of a candidate's bid for the vacant District 3 seat on the City Council.

Chris Burnett, who is in the June 21 runoff with fellow candidate Joe Houseman, has received the endorsement of the "community's move active volunteers," he said in a press release. 

One of those expressing support is Steve Levetan, chairman of the Sandy Springs Conservancy.

"We are personally supporting Chris Burnett for City Council because we have each served with him for years in organizations that are so important to Sandy Springs, and he has proven time and again his love for this city through his tireless efforts to make our town a better place," Levetan said. "Chris is not just a great guy, he is a real leader with impeccable integrity and we know he will be an outstanding advocate and leader for our district and our community.”

Burnett notes he's served in leadership roles with many of the organizations whose members have endorsed him. Some of those include Sandy Springs Conservancy, the Sandy Springs Civic Fund, Holy Innocents Board of Trustees, Rotary Club of Sandy Springs and the Sandy Springs/Perimter Chamber of Commerce.

The runoff election will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 21 at the Hammond Park Round Program Building located at 6005 Glenridge Drive. Advance voting will take place between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 11 and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 13-17 at the Round Program Building.
