Tractor Trailer Crashes Into Pickup Truck On Ga. 400
Sandy Springs police say the accident was reported Thursday morning on the northbound side at the Abernathy Road interchange.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — A motorist was transported to an area hospital Thursday morning after a tractor trailer crashed into the back of his pickup truck on Ga. 400 in Sandy Springs.
The collision was reported around 6:30 a.m. on the northbound side at the Abernathy Road interchange, Sandy Springs police spokesperson Sgt. Sam Worsham. The driver of the pickup truck had to be extricated from the vehicle by Sandy Springs firefighters.
He was transported to a local hospital for treatment, and is "expected to survive," Worsham added.

The tractor trailer began to leak diesel fuel following the crash, which complicated cleanup efforts. The fuel, Worsham told Patch, had to be removed from the big rig and the spill was contained.
