Act 3 Productions, the professional-level community theater based in Sandy Springs, will present “Xanadu”, the Tony Award-nominated musical based on the popular Universal Pictures Film, Jan. 5-8 and Jan. 13-15, 2012. Performances are at 8 p.m. Thursdays – Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays. Xanadu tells the story of a Greek muse, Kira, who descends from Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, California to inspire Sonny, a struggling artist, to create a roller disco. But when Kira falls in love with Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation and Kira risks eternal banishment to the underworld. The Act 3 Playhouse is located behind Trader Joe’s in Sandy Springs Plaza at the intersection of Roswell Road and Johnson Ferry Road.
