SANDY SPRINGS -- Act 3 Productions, the professional-level community theater based in Sandy Springs, will hold auditions June 29 and 30, for a new a cappella workshop led by Greg Windle. Auditions are scheduled for 7-10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and are open to all ages, male and female. Those interested should prepare two pop songs to sing. Callbacks will be held Friday, July 1 at 7 p.m.
A cappella is the art of solo or group singing without accompaniment by musical instruments. The workshop will be directed by Greg Windle, president of the University of Georgia’s Accidentals all-male a cappella group. Although classically trained, Windle is equally passionate about pop, rock and jazz music. He will conduct the workshop in the style of the TV shows “Glee” and “The Sing-Off”.
The a cappella workshop will be held Tuesday, July 5 through Sunday, July 31. Rehearsals will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons, with a final performance on Sunday, July 31 at 8 p.m. The fee is $100. For more information, visit www.act3productions.org.
