The Yael and Sons Fire Relief Fund has a goal of raising $5,000 for Yael Waknine and her two sons, ages 4 and 6.
Waknine and her sons were among several families who were abruptly uprooted in the June 30 fire, which started Tuesday afternoon at Morgan’s Landing apartments, which are located in the 7800 block of Roswell Road.

Two children were injured when they had to jump from their units “because of the quick moving fire,” the city of Sandy Springs said last week in a news release.
Sandy Springs Fire-Rescue investigators believe the improper disposal of a cigarette cause the fire, which destroyed a total of 12 units.
According to the fundraising page, Waknine had just moved into the apartment unit following a divorce and “set up a loving home for herself and her boys.”
While the trio, including their dog, all escaped the blaze, their home and items were destroyed.
As of late Monday afternoon, $1,801 had been contributed to the GoFundMe account. You can make your contribution by visiting the fundraising page.
