Gas Station Clerk Shot, Man Arrested: Sandy Springs Police

Sandy Springs Police arrested a man they said shot the clerk during the armed robbery of a gas station.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The Sandy Springs Police Department has made an arrest following an armed robbery of a gas station where the clerk was shot.

Just after 11 p.m. on Sept. 21, Sandy Springs Police received a 911 call from a customer who witnessed the robbery and shooting at Texaco, 8340 Roswell Road.

When officers arrived to the store, they found the victim had at least one gunshot wound.

Although this investigation is in the early stages, detectives were able to determine that this was the result of an armed robbery attempt, and that it involved one suspect.

Within a few hours into the investigation, Sandy Springs detectives were able to identify the suspect. After obtaining arrest and search warrants, several Sandy Springs Police Specialized Units along with North-Metro SWAT located and arrested the suspect at his Sandy Springs home.

The suspect has been identified as Gabriyel M. Ealy, 22, of Sandy Springs. Ealy has been charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault, robbery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

He was transported to the Fulton County Jail.
