2 Suspects Remain At Large Following High-Speed Police Chase
Three teens inside the vehicle were arrested after the pursuit, which ended when police performed a PIT maneuver on I-285 in Sandy Springs.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — Two suspects remain at large after a police chase of a stolen vehicle ended with a Georgia State Patrol trooper performing a PIT maneuver on Interstate 285 in Sandy Springs. Atlanta police around 1:08 a.m. May 9 requested the help of GSP in their efforts to pull over a stolen Toyota Corolla on Piedmont Road just south of Pharr Road.
The stolen vehicle passed Sgt. Stacey Collins with the Georgia State Patrol at Piedmont and East Paces Ferry roads. Collins notified Atlanta police via radio that he was taking over the pursuit, while another trooper became "secondary on Piedmont Road at Peachtree Road," GSP told Patch.
The police chase continued northbound on Piedmont Road and on Roswell Road in Buckhead.

The chase entered the city of Sandy Springs, and continued northbound on Roswell Road where the vehicle got onto Interstate 285 using the eastbound entrance ramp. Soon after getting onto the interstate, SFC Collins performed the PIT maneuver just east of the Roswell Road interchange.
Five occupants of the Toyota bolted from the car and ran south into the woodline. Collins and another trooper followed the suspects into the woods and eventually captured three people. One suspect, a 15-year-old girl, was transported to WellStar North Fulton Hospital to be treated for injuries she sustained while trying to scale a fence, the Georgia State Patrol added.
Sandy Springs police spokesperson Sgt. Sam Worsham added the other two suspects, both juveniles, were also apprehended by police. One girl was located in the system as a runaway, and she was turned over to DeKalb County. The other, an underage male, was turned over to his mother, Sgt. Worsham added.
A search was conducted by GSP and Sandy Springs and Brookhaven police, but no other suspects were located. A stolen handgun was recovered from the vehicle, which GSP say was reported stolen from DeKalb County.
No patrol vehicles or civilian cars were damaged in the pursuit, and the passenger apprehended during the foot chase is the only person who suffered injuries, the state patrol added.
