Holy Innocents' Skye Bolt Drafted by Oakland A's
UNC outfielder was 128th pick in this year's Major League baseball draft.

Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School alum Skye Bolt ‘12, who practically rewrote the Golden Bear record books during his four-year high school baseball days, has been drafted in the fourth round by the Oakland Athletics. Overall, he was the 128th pick.
Bolt, after graduating from HIES, has starred at UNC as an outfielder, where he has continued to garner honors for his stellar play.

He just finished his third year at UNC where he remains a starter and one of the leading hitters on the squad. As a freshman, he hit .321 and was named Freshman All-American and Second Team All-ACC. After his first UNC season, Bolt made the 24-man roster on the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team.
His sophomore year saw him start 60 games and tie for first on the team in homers. This past spring, as a junior, Bolt was the fifth leading hitter at .259 and started in 55 of the 56 games he played in.

During his four years at HIES, he helped lead the team to a playoff berth every season under Coach Dylan Deal. After high school graduation, Bolt was drafted in the 26th round in 2012 by the Washington Nationals and was ranked the #6 player in Georgia by Perfect Game. In the nation, he was tabbed the #39th top player and #11 among outfielders, also by Perfect Game.
