I-85 Bridge Collapse: Will It Affect Fulton Schools?

The interstate has been closed in both directions near Piedmont Road, and is expected to remain inaccessible to motorist in midtown Atlanta.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Normal operations will take place Friday, March 31 for the Fulton County School System.

That's according to a message released late Thursday evening by the system. Employees who live south of Atlanta "are encouraged to leave home with ample time to arrive to their work site," the system said.

While the system has buses what are housed in south Fulton and travel north to serve schools in Sandy Springs, Fulton County does not expect the interstate collapse to have any bearing on their ability to serve scheduled routes since they utilize Interstate 285.
