• Morgan Falls Dog Park to reopen with new shade canopies this October (roughdraftatlanta.com) — Sandy Springs dog owners will soon get a drier, shadier Morgan Falls Dog Park, with new canopies, regraded grounds, fresh grass, benches, and a wash station opening in early October. A ribbon-cutting is planned for Oct. 14, following a $1.04 million city project that also improved drainage and updated the Georgia Power land lease along the Chattahoochee. 
• Oct. 10 'Pug-O-Ween' to benefit statewide dog rescue (appenmedia.com) — Sandy Springs dog lovers can head to Pontoon Brewing on Dunwoody Place Oct. 10 for the free, family-friendly Pug-O-Ween fundraiser benefiting Georgia Peach Pug Rescue. Expect costumed pups, races, raffles, vendors, and crafts, all aimed at supporting a young statewide nonprofit that relies on events like this to fund medical care and find homes for rescued pugs.
