Police Identify Driver Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Sandy Springs police have identified the motorist who died Tuesday in a single-vehicle collision on S.R. 400.

Gainesville resident Timothy Bartlett, 45, was traveling southbound on the highway when his vehicle left the roadway near the Hammond Drive interchange shortly after midnight May 31.

After leaving the road, the vehicle hit a sign post, Sandy Springs police Capt. Mike Lindstrom previously told Patch.

There were no passengers inside the vehicle, and Bartlett was pronounced dead at the scene. Lindstrom added the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
