UPDATE: Police Continue Search For Vehicle in Fatal Accident

Sandy Springs police are still looking for the vehicle they believe was possibly involved in Thursday morning’s pedestrian fatality on Interstate 285 near Roswell Road.

The vehicle is described as a white pickup truck, which possibly has a camper shell on its bed. Anyone with information in this case should call Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS (8477). Callers can remain anonymous

Sandy Springs police have identified a possible vehicle involved in the fatality early Thursday morning along Interstate 285.
Investigators with the agency are looking for a white pickup truck, possibly with a camper shell on its bed, as the vehicle they believed was involved in pedestrian fatality.
No information is available regarding a make or model of the vehicle, said Sandy Springs police spokesperson Sgt. Ron Momon.

Sandy Springs police have identified the victim from the fatal accident involving a pedestrian who was killed along I-285 just before daybreak Thursday morning.
Gayla Joyce Walker, 53, of Dunwoody was discovered around 6 a.m. Jan. 22 on the westbound side of the interstate near Roswell Road, said Sandy Springs police spokesperson Sgt. Ron Momon.
Momon said the agency was initially informed of a possible animal blocking two or three lanes of the interstate.
Officers arrived onto the scene and discovered the form was a human body ”that apparently was struck by several vehicles” and was unrecognizable to motorists.
“Investigators have determined that the victim walked onto the interstate and was struck by a large vehicle, as determined by the skid marks,” Momon added.
