Prisoner's Threat To Ex-Girlfriend's Child Forces School Lockdown

Police implemented a lockdown at Ison Elementary School after the woman informed the school about the incident.

Police are investigating an incident in which a convicted murderer allegedly threatened his ex-girlfriend’s child, which forced a Sandy Springs school to go into lockdown.

Ison Elementary School on Thursday went into lockdown mode after Anthony Tyrone Terrell, who is serving two life sentences at Wilcox State Prison for triple murder, allegedly threatened to send some “folks to the school to get the ex-girlfriend’s child,” said Sandy Springs police spokesperson Sgt. Ron Momon.

Momon said Terrell was upset because the mother of the child broke up with him. The threats were allegedly made by email.

Mom added the mother believes the ex-boyfriend knew her email account information and sent them using her account so they would not be traced back to him.

According to WSB-TV, the mother said she received the email around 11:30 a.m. from Terrell, who WSB reports is also the father of the child. Terrell allegedly threatened to kill the mother and her child, the station said. As soon as the woman received the email, she called the school and informed them of the incident.

Ison Elementary remained in lockdown mode until around 2:20 p.m. when classes were dismissed, WSB states.

Momon said no charges have been filed at this time and the incident is still under investigation.

According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Terrell in 2010 pleaded guilty to murder and received two life sentences for killing his mother and her two daughters. Terrell was 17-years-old at the time of the shooting deaths, which occurred in 2008.
