Sandy Springs Fire Department Adds To Fleet
The purchase completes a phased program approved by the Council in 2018, replacing apparatus originally put in service in 2008 and 2013.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — During its meeting Tuesday, the Sandy Springs City Council approved the purchase of three new apparatus for the fire department. The purchase completes a phased program approved by the council in 2018, replacing apparatus originally put in service in 2008 and 2013.
The purchase includes two PUC Pumper apparatus and one Ascendant Mid-Count Platform 100’ Aerial apparatus. The city’s two 2013 Quantum pumpers will be placed in reserve once the new equipment is placed in service. The current platform at Fire Station No. 2 will be placed in reserved and provide the fire department with dependable equipment to use as a reserve fleet for years to come.
The fire department utilizes five Pumpers and three Aerials in citywide deployment. The purchase is estimated at $2,958,011. As the equipment is customized to fit the fire department’s needs, delivery of the new vehicles will take approximately 18 months.
