Sandy Springs Man Charged In $700,000 Jewelry Store Robbery
More than $700,000 in jewelry was taken from a Conyers store during an April 18 armed robbery, the FBI said.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Agents with the FBI Atlanta Field Office have arrested two suspects in connection to the armed robbery of a Conyers jewelry store.
Cephos Leyon “Jamal” White, 29, of Sandy Springs and Sandrika Denise Sears (also known as Nubian Monae) Monae, 31, of Decatur were arrested Wednesday morning, a little more than three months following the armed robbery. White was apprehended in Sandy Springs while Sears was captured in Decatur.
They were arrested by FBI agents and detectives with the Conyers Police Department on warrants issued through federal criminal complaints charging them both with robbery and using a firearm during a crime.

On April 18, White and Sears entered Kay Jewelers at 1620 Dogwood Avenue in Conyers and robbed the store at gunpoint, according to the criminal complaint. Jewelry valued at more than $700,000 was allegedly taken by the pair, the FBI contends.
According to a Facebook post made in April by Conyers police, the pair robbed the business around 10:20 a.m.

"The male armed with a black semi-automatic handgun jumped the counter after a short conversation with an employee," the agency previously said.
Both White and Sears made initial appearances on Wednesday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Catherine M. Salinas in Atlanta. The case is being investigated by the FBI and Conyers Police Department.
