SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The body of a man wanted in connection to the murder of a Sandy Springs mother has been found in a hotel in a small Louisiana city. Patrick Joseph Nolan was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound Friday, June 1 in a hotel in Gonzales, Louisiana, the Sandy Springs Police Department said Friday evening.

Nolan, 43, was the ex-boyfriend of Amber Marie Holliman, 39, who was found dead on Saturday, May 26 inside a burning home in the 500 block of Hammond Drive. He was charged with murder, aggravated assault with intent to murder and arson in connection to Holliman's death, and had been on the run since the grisly discovery.

The suspect's dog, a 160-pound Presa Canario, was also found at the motel in "good health," said Sandy Springs police spokesperson Sgt. Sam Worsham. Nolan's vehicle was also discovered by police at the hotel, he added. Gonzales, Louisiana, is located in Ascension Parish, which is about 26 miles southeast of Baton Rouge.
