Sandy Springs Police Seek Identity of Stabbing Suspect

The victim said a man allegedly stabbed him in the forearm last week outside the Citgo convenience store on Dunwoody Place.

Detectives with the Sandy Springs Police Department is asking the public to help them identify the man accused of stabbing anther person last week at a convenience store.

The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3 at Citgo, located at 8779 Dunwoody Place. According to Sandy Springs police’s press release, a man wearing a red and white jacket stabbed another man outside the establishment.

According to an incident report released by the agency, the victim told police he was waiting in line to purchase cigarettes at the store. A man and woman who were in line before him were “taking a very long time,” the report states.

As the clerk and others in line grew impatient, the victim told police he told “the couple to hurry up,” according to the report.

The victim subsequently made his purchased, walked out of the store and proceeded to make the trek home at a nearby apartment complex.

However, the victim said he was near the gas pumps when the man who he exchanged words with inside the store “approached him, didn’t say anything and stabbed him in the forearm,” the report said.

“Once he was stabbed, he started running to get away and ran toward his apartment,” the officer wrote.

The suspect is described as black male between 5’4’’ and 5’5’’, in his early to mid 20s and had a short afro at the time of the incident.

Sandy Springs police say the man was also seen arriving and leaving the store in a small, dark blue vehicle, possibly a Scion XD or Fiat 500L.
