As of late Thursday afternoon, the Slope’s Rising From The Ashes GoFundMe campaign has raised $10,501.

In a Dec. 21 video message, resident Jim Martell said brothers and co-owners Andy and Glenn McDaniel have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of generosity from Sandy Springs residents and other citizens.
“It just gives me goosebumps to think about the generosity of you and everybody has been apart of this GoFundMe campaign,” he said, later adding Slope’s barbecue is “definitely rising from the ashes.”
He also said the McDaniels have also taken care of their employees by offering them work over the holiday season at the Alpharetta location.
Sandy Springs Fire-Rescue crews responded to the fire just after 7 a.m. when officials at Fire Station No. 2 “noticed heavy smoke coming through the roof” of the restaurant, city spokesperson Sharon Kraun previously told Patch.
Sandy Springs Deputy Fire Chief Mark Duke stated the fire “appears to have started somewhere around the smoker and chimney area, which extended into the attic space.”
