  1. Mayor Van Johnson presented the Key to the City to Savannah native Big Boi. The rapper is best known for being half of the rap duo Outkast and has always represented the Savannah area in his music and performances. Big Boi was one of the headliners at the recent Enmarket Arena concert on Feb. 11, 2022. (WTOC)
  2. Mayor Van Johnson addressed the recent increase in the homeless population across the Savannah area during his weekly press conference. The Mayor has been adamant that he will not criminalize homelessness or seek to push the population towards a designated area. Mayor Van Johnson reports he will meet with community partners in the coming weeks to learn about the problem and to find solutions that will benefit the homeless population across Savannah.   3. The Savannah College of Art and Design announced its participants for this year's SCAD TVfest in celebration of the event's tenth anniversary. The event will be a virtual experience celebrating all aspects of television and streaming services. Several high-profile celebrities will receive awards and there will be a panel of presentations to accompany the festival. (savannahceo.com)
