Here are the top three stories today in Savannah:

  1. According to Savannah police, several people were hurt after a three-car crash that occurred in the early hours of Mar. 30. The incident happened around 2 a.m. at the corner of DeRenne Avenue and Montgomery Street. The vehicles involved suffered heavy damage and several people were hurt but there is no word yet regarding the extent of their injuries. (WJCL News Savannah)
  2. Several Savannah students traveled 250 miles to give their opinions on a House Bill surrounding how race is taught in schools, but they never got their chance to speak. The kids from Deep Center were ready for the opportunity of a lifetime at an education and youth Senate committee hearing. The high schoolers traveled to the capitol and prepared their testimonies for House Bill 1084, which concerns how race is taught in schools, but were not given a chance to speak. (WJCL News Savannah)
  3. The Chatham County Police Department is investigating two armed robberies over the weekend that were executed using Facebook Marketplace. Police say both robberies involved an ad for a car for sale. The victim of the first case was told to meet somewhere then was directed to several other locations before several armed men robbed them at gunpoint on Mar. 27. The second incident occurred the following day under similar circumstances. (WSAV-TV)
