Hello again, Savannah! Important update: You all, as readers, have made the Savannah Daily so successful that it is my honor to announce the next stage of the newsletter. Patch is looking for a local writer and entrepreneur to take the helm of the Savannah Daily. Although I have loved getting to know this community, we want to pass the torch to someone truly local to write about Savannah long term. So if you're interested in earning extra income while making this newsletter a more valuable resource for your neighbors, learn more and apply here.

First, today's weather:

Mostly sunny and very warm. High: 82 Low: 61.

Here are the top 3 stories today in Savannah:

  1. Local nonprofits received a four-year, $600,000 grant to address childhood trauma and mental health issues in children, youth, and young adults in the Savannah area. The Coastal Georgia Indicators Coalition (CGIC) will administer the grant with its partners, including Gateway Community Service Board, the Chatham County Safety Net, and Loop It Up Savannah. The coalition will be known as Resilient Coastal Georgia, a subset of the statewide organization, Resilient Georgia. (Carriage Trade PR)
  2. On Wednesday, the Savannah Police Department announced it located a missing college student, 20-year-old Carson Jacobson, and he is safe. A bulletin had been posted for his disappearance on Monday. Jacobsen is in Georgia attending the Savannah College of Art and Design. (WSMV)
  3. Before 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, a vehicle hit a pedestrian in the eastbound lane of Liberty Street at Bull Street. Police closed the road and did not indicate the extent of possible injuries or how long the road would remain closed. Drivers were asked to seek an alternate route. (WJCL)
